Have
you been wanting to lock your sub in chastity, but not sure where to
start? This guide should help. Chastity may sound like a simple
concept and something that you can dive into with your sub/slave,
Dom/Master, or just a kinky friend. But there are many things to
consider, especially if you want it to last and don’t want your sub
running for the hills next time you mention the word “chastity”.
Safety:
As
always, make sure bdsm/kink play is safe, sane, and consensual. Never
leave your sub alone during bdsm play. Prepare everything needed
before restraining your sub so there’s no need to step away until
after you’ve released him. When using rope or any tightly fitting
cuffs, always periodically feel your sub’s hands/feet/balls
(whatever is tied) to ensure they aren’t cold. Cold is a sign of
circulation loss which needs to be addressed immediately by removing
the restraints in that area before your sub gets hurt.
Specific
to chastity, ALWAYS make sure your sub has at least 2 to 3 ways to
contact you while you have his dick locked. An emergency may be rare,
but if/when it happens, you don’t want to look like an irresponsible
Dom. It could turn out to be a very bad thing if your app
notifications are turned off when your sub sends you a message on an
app to tell you that his skin is chafed and looking pretty bad, if
that’s the ONLY way he has to contact you. You can make an app
message the primary method of contact if you prefer, but give him
your phone number to text you and setup guidelines for such cases.
For example, “If you need me and it’s a non-emergency, contact
me on ABC app or send me an e-mail and I will reply with 24 hours. If
it’s urgent but not an emergency that jeopardizes your health in any
way, text me. If it’s an emergency that is or could jeopardize your
health, call me immediately.”
Also,
set you sub up to win, not lose. If he’s never been locked in
chastity before, not even to try on a device, understand that the
first device he tries may not work for him. Start his chastity term
short and see how it goes. Be aware and cautious with devices that
have potential pinch points, and monitor new chastity subs frequently
for the first few days. You could require your sub send you a
close-up photo twice per day, primarily for the purpose of checking
for any issues that he may not have noticed (and to make sure he’s
still locked, of course). 😉

want/need to try a few to find the best fit for long term chastity).
See below for different devices, some pros and cons of each, and
links to them. Click the name of the device at the top of each
section for more details, or to purchase that device. This is by no
means an all inclusive list. This is just a sampling of several
devices and my own opinions of the pros and cons of each.
A
small padlock that fits the chastity cage. Most devices will include
this.
Optional,
but highly recommended: A tissue, for uncut subs (see “A
few additional tips and ideas” near the end of this post)
Optional,
but very handy: Water
based lube. It definitely helps to use lube when trying to slide
a sub’s dick into a chastity cage. I prefer to use water based lube,
and it may help avoid issues with metal corrosion or similar effects
reacting to something in lube, especially on cheaper devices.
Implementation:
Make
sure your sub has at least 2-3 ways to contact you, and at least one
way to ALWAYS reach you regardless of whether you’re at work, at
home, or anywhere else.
Agree
on the term of chastity, rules, etc. For example, “One week
chastity term. If the sub whines or asks to be released early, one
day gets added to the chastity term each time he asks.”
Obviously an emergency or anything that negatively affects the sub’s
health overrides this.
Lock
your sub in chastity, making sure the device fits him well and
doesn’t pinch.
You
should always try to reserve some time to spend with your sub after
he’s locked, to ensure he can move around without the device pinching
him, to make sure he can use the bathroom while wearing the device,
and to make sure it doesn’t feel horrible after an hour or two of
being locked.
This
device is great for subs that are new to chastity. Many subs use this
device to try out chastity and get comfortable with the idea of being
locked. Depending on where you buy it, it normally includes several
different sized rings to go around the dick and balls, spacers of
various lengths, a padlock, and several numbered plastic padlock tags
to allow a sub to release himself with the Dom knowing he did so.
Very
adjustable for different sized subs with all of the parts that are
typically included with this device.
You
can find plenty of knock-offs similar to this device which can be a
pretty inexpensive way to try chastity. Just be careful, as many
knock-offs will split much more easily. I wouldn’t recommend a cheap
imitation for long term chastity. I would only recommend it to get
used to the idea, understanding you may be spending $20 instead of
$150, but you may also be wasting $20 on a device that cracks open in
a week or so.
Cons:
With
so many parts, there tends to be just as many potential pinch points.
This
device has a tendencey to split right down the middle with a lot of
pressure (just because your sub is locked doesn’t mean he won’t get
hard).
Very
low security. Escape is as easy as grabbing a pair of scissors and
cutting a plastic pin behind the padlock.
This
device was given to me by a sub. Despite my efforts to identify it, I
wasn’t able to find a name for it. However, I wouldn’t personally
recommend this device anyway for a few reasons, so I’m including it
here as more of a warning for things to be aware of.
Pros:
May
be a good device, if obtained inexpensively, to get a feel for
chastity and see if it’s for you.
Cons:
A
lot of pinch points due to the design of this device. The two halves
(upper and lower parts of the cage) touch together all around the
edges. This makes for a very large potential pinching area. Also,
there are several plastic rings that are somehow used as spacers (I’m
still not sure I was able to piece it together properly since no
matter what I tried, it didn’t make much sense to me). In any case,
the more parts that are pushed together, the more potential pinch
points.
Two
padlocks. On some devices this could be viewed as extra security,
especially if it only required one lock to keep your sub’s dick
locked, and you use two padlocks with different keys. However, on
this device, I see no simple way of securing the padlocks down so
they don’t jingle. This makes for a chastity device that’s more noisy
and obvious to people when you’re trying to keep it private.
No
“air holes”. Most devices have slots in the cage for
breathing points, which also help for cleaning as water can flow
through them. This device is pretty solid plastic without many areas
for soap and water to enter in the shower (just a hole for the balls
to fit through, and a small hole to piss through).
The
Holy Trainer V2 is a great device, in my opinion. It’s pretty
comfortable for most subs, and it’s made of a resin material that
actually molds to the sub’s body over time, making it even more
comfortable than it is to begin with. The molding to the sub happens
in a hot shower or bathtub as the device heats up. Also, I’ve read
several reports (including on the Holy Trainer web site) of this
device getting through airport security without setting the detectors
off, which is another perk for long term chastity.
Sizing

Good
security overall. Although I don’t consider most non-steel chastity
devices to be high security, this device is different. Between of the
fact that the device has no flimsy plastic pins that can be cut, it’s
pretty solid without being likely to crack or split down the middle.
The built-in lock means escape isn’t as easy as cutting through a
padlock with bolt cutters when your sub is incredibly horny.
Available
in a few different sizes.
Only
two pieces which are strategically placed and greatly minimizes the
chance of pinching.
Cons:
A
bit more expensive than some devices, but you get what you pay for.
If
you want to lock your sub in chastity and stimulate his dick using
e-stim, this is the cage for you. I wouldn’t recommend this cage for
long term wear, but it’s great for a session with the intent of
unlocking the sub before he heads home.

Adjustable
ring
Pros:
Adjustable
ring and multiple spacers are included, which allows for many sizes.
E-stim
pins (cable included) attach to the sides of the cage to allow you to
stimulate your sub’s dick after locking it up.
Cons:
Many
parts, which means many potential pinch points. Since I wouldn’t
recommend this cage for long term wear, I don’t see this as much of
an issue. Just be careful during play and try to avoid pinching, and
with the e-stim feature, your sub will have a lot more to focus on
anyway.
This
device is plastic with some thinner parts, so it’s pretty easy to cut
(low security). But again, if only used during a session, security
isn’t an issue since you’ll probably have your sub restrained anyway.

The
Jail House is a very solid device which most subs find to be pretty
comfortable. There are only two pieces, which minimizes potential
pinch points. It doesn’t swivel or move much once locked, which also
adds to its comfort.
Sizing

Pros:
Very
solid, not much movement when locked.
Two
pieces which minimizes pinch points, and the solid ring helps as well
since there is no hinge and no extra pieces sliding together.
Cons:
Uses
a solid ring around the sub’s dick and balls. This may be difficult
to get on some subs, or frustrating for the Dom if one ball slips
back through the ring before getting both balls and dick through the
ring.
The
Bird Cage is a device I haven’t used often, since I prefer a few
others. However, it’s a great go-to device for subs with larger
dicks, and it’s less expensive than many steel devices.

Pros:
Steel
device without the typical high cost.
Only
two pieces which minimizes pinch points.

ring, which is sometimes more difficult to get your sub’s dick and

show under the sub’s clothes more easily than smaller cages.
This
a nice, high security cage, made of brushed stainless steel. It’s
heavier than most other chastity devices, so some subs might not
like that. On the other hand, it’s a constant reminder that you own
your sub’s cock. 😉

Pros:
Highly
secure device which uses a proprietary bit and tool for
locking/unlocking.

Cons:
Rings
are hinged, which normally add pinch points (but does make it easier
to put the device on). However, this device includes rubber coverings
around the hinges. I recommend sliding the rubber over a bit more so
it covers both sides of the hinge to prevent pinching.
Weight
(if you prefer a lighter device).
Larger
than usual gap between cage and ring which means more chance of
pulling dick out.
This
is a very nice custom device. It’s pricey, so you probably won’t want
to start with this device since you may have no clue what size you
need, and around $340+ is a lot to pay for a device you may get no
use out of. But once you know that chastity is for you (or your sub)
and you know the perfect size, this device is great.
Sizing
is custom from a wide variety of options. You can customize the cage
length, the cage diameter, the ring size and shape, and even add
options for added security.
Pros:
Nice,
solid device.
Custom
made to the sizing the sub requests.
Highly
secure device, if you order it that way. You can order it with a
security screw and anti-pullout pins, for an extra cost.
Cons:
This
device starts at $340.00 (at the time of this posting). Options such
as extra rings in the cage, security screw, and anti-pullout pins can
quickly add to the price. For example, 3 punishment pins, a security
screw, and no other options added brings the price tag up to $485.00.
I’d still say it’s worth the cost if you have tested chastity with
other devices are decide that you’re in it for the long haul.
Otherwise, this device may break the bank for a short term “toy”.
There
are several of these belts out there, and many knock-offs. These
belts offer a lot of extra security and control over your sub. The
downside of most regular chastity cages out there is that preventing
your sub from pulling his dick out the back of the cage is virtually
impossible. You can make it challenging with things like Mature Metal
punishment pins, and/or difficult to get his dick back in the cage so
you may find out about the pull out. However, there’s no really good
way to prevent it entirely. Except…with a full chastity belt! (For
long term chastity in one of these, just make sure your sub is able
to use the bathroom without too much trouble.)
Sizing
varies from one device to another, but most of these belts will
accomodate a small range of waist sizes with a single belt.
Pros:
Higher
security than most cages.
Preventspull
outs if the device is fitted properly.
Cons:
Full
chastity belts are typically pretty expensive.
Hygiene
can be more difficult since full belts usually don’t have much of an
open design (open slots that you’d find in most cages).
You’ll
need to check up on your sub more often. If he has chaffing on his
skin or anything similar, he may never know it until you unlock him
to check.
This
one is great during a play session, but not designed for long term
chastity. Part of the reason for that is because it doesn’t lock on
the sub, of course. But it’s great for use in the playroom when your
sub is restrained and you’re stimulating his dick, watching it grow
into the prickly velcro. To see how to make this device, see this

Pros:
Very
inexpensive (making this device can cost as little as a few dollars,
or free if you already have some self-stick velcro at home).
Very
easy to put on your sub’s dick. No rings to fit his dick and balls
through, and no pinch points to be concerned about (other than the
obvious prickly intentions of this one). 😉
Cons:
Not
lockable.
Not
designed for long term chastity, or the long term control aspects of
chastity.
A
few additional tips and ideas:
If
you already have a chastity cage and just want to spice it up a bit,
try taking two small squares (or thin strips, or thicker strips, it’s
up to you and how rough you and/or your sub want it) of the rough
side of velcro and sticking them inside a chastity cage. See more

If
your sub is uncut, you can still lock his dick in chastity, but
you’ll need to be careful and aware of a few things. Hygiene will be
more difficult for him, which typically requires regular unlockings
for more thorough cleanings. A good rule for most is at least once
per week, but you and your sub will have to judge as everyone is
different.
Also,
if your sub is uncut, this may make it more difficult to get his dick
in a chastity device, especially if he’s more sensitive. However, a
friend of mine came up with a great way to make this incredibly easy,
and he uses it himself. Thanks to @hushpuppy1980 for taking a quick
video today for me, just so all of you could see how easy this can
be. (Due to the way videos like this work on Tumblr, I had to turn
parts of the video into an animation.)
Just
take a tissue, put it under your uncut dick, fold one side over, then
fold the other side over. Next, twist the end of the tissue until
that end becomes much thinner and will fit through the hole at the
end of the chastity cage. Push the tissue through your cage from the
back, then slowly and carefully pull it out through the hole at the
end as you pull the cage over your dick. Just be sure to get all of
the tissue out before locking the cage on. If the tissue rips, start
over and try it again with another tissue.
Next
week:
Take a few items you may already have in your garage/basement and
workout area, and turn them into a disappearing bondage table. When
you’re playing, you see it. When you’re done, it looks like a few
ordinary household items.
