This is a pretty realistic portrayal of how long it ACTUALLY takes to render someone unconscious using “chloroform”  It’s not like the 10 seconds and they’re out like you see in the movies.  It’s also easier to chloroform a struggling victim if they are already tied up or in this case intoxicated.
